Transplant · Burn reconstruction · Nepal

For those who miss the breakthrough and proper care.

Dr. Sabin Subedi is personally funding the first five surgeries in Nepal, by Fall 2027. Each one gets a public profile, its real cost and an outcome update.

Proof, not promises

One patient. One cost. One outcome.

Each surgery is its own story: the patient, the procedure, an itemized cost and, after surgery, how they are doing. Published with consent. No pooled mystery fund.

Surgery 01

In preparation: confirming a partner hospital in Nepal

The first patient’s story, procedure, full cost and outcome will be published here, with their consent.

The focus

We fund what the system doesn’t.

We start in Nepal, Dr. Subedi’s home country, with two kinds of surgery where cost decides who gets care.

I.

Transplant gap funding

Nepal’s government covers kidney transplant up to NPR 550,000. Liver transplant isn’t covered: the procedure package at the national transplant centre alone is NPR 1,500,000, before beds, labs and medicines. We fund the part families can’t, including the anti-rejection medicines that keep a new organ working.

II.

Burn reconstruction

Contracture releases, skin grafts and scar revision that give back movement, function and the ability to work. Burns kill an estimated 180,000 people a year, most in low- and middle-income countries (WHO), and survivors often live for years with contractures no one can afford to fix.

Cost figures: Shahid Dharmabhakta National Transplant Centre posted rates (procedure charges only) and Nepal government transplant coverage. Each patient’s actual itemized cost is published on their profile.
